WHO WE ARE? The Center for People's Resource's and Services, Inc. (CPRS,Inc.) is a non-stock service organization that is working to assist the marginalized sectors of our society in their efforts to improve their lives of poverty during these times of crisis. CPRS came into being amidst the worsening impact of globalization on the sugar industry. Which compromises the main pillar of their economy in Negros. Hundreds of thousands of farmers and farm workers are dispalced by the chronic crisis on the sugar industry. A substantial number of this displaced sectors find themselves in the swelling urban population of the island, competing for the already limited job opportunities in the cities. some migrate to manila and other regions of the country. Many seek employment abroad. CPRS was founded in a meeting, among representatives of people's organization and non-government organization on june 28,2003. Its creation is a response to the people's need for an organization that would assists them in coping with the devastating impact of the continuing crisis of the sugar industry, in particular, and the economy in general. CPRS ia also a people's response to cope with disaster.
